Special Items, Spells and Armor
Here is a list of all the hidden weapons armor and spells in the game. All except for the ones marked with a * were found by me.
To get the item, fight the corresponding monsters. The chances of you getting the item is completely random, but it also doesn't happen very often.

Artemis Bow: Fight an enemy group of 1 Warlock and 1 Kary in the final level. It is the strongest bow in the game.
Crystal Ring: Fight a Behemoth. This ring is the best gauntlet in the game, and all characters can use it.
Medusa Sword: Fight 3 black lizards. This sword isn't that good in attack power, but it has the ability to turn enemies to stone. I havn't tried it enough to find out how often it does this.
Glass Helm: Fight an evil mask. This helm rules. It compliments the crystal ring quite well.
Dragon Whip: Fight 2 blue dragons. A good weapon for Rydia, it's particulary strong against dragons.
Lilith Rod: Fight liliths. This rod doesn't deal much damage, but all damage is dealt to the target's MP instead of HP.
Bomb Call Spell: Fight 2 grenades and 2 balloons. It attacks all enemies with a firebomb costing 10mp. It's quite good.
Mage call spell: Fight 2 mages. Summons a mage to attack enemies for pretty good damage, around 1000 for 18mp.
Imp call spell: Fight imps. This spell rules. It costs 1 mp to deal 1 damage to the opponent. I love it.
Dummy Spell*: Fight Cockatrices. I have never gotten this spell, nor do i believe it exists, BUT i have been told it does, so i'm including it on the list.

To Get Excalibur
In monstro town, there is a chest on the first floor that has a rats tail in it. Exit the cave, and go back to the upper land with this tail in your possession. Board the airship which has the hook attached, and pick up the hovercraft. Take the hovercraft to the town of silveria and ride it to the cave to the south east. Inside you'll find a man who collects tails. Trade the tail for the legendary ore adament. Now, back in the lowerworld there is a blacksmith to the south of the entrance. His house is easy to miss, it is quite small. But if you go inside and give him the ore, he'll make your origional sword into excalubur.

To get the Adament Armor
In the final level, on the fifth floor, to the right of the entrace, is a small room which has a chest with a cabin in it. Wander around the room until you get in a fight. Chances are slim that you'll encounter a very rare set of 5 pink puffs. But if you do, defeat them. You have a 1 in 64 chance of getting a pink tail when you kill them, but pink puffs are very rare, and this is the only room where you can fight them. IF you get the tail, go to the man who collects tails (see the above trick). He'll trade the tail for the Adament armor, the best armor in the game, and every character can equip it.

The Duplicating Trick
This trick is an oddity in itself, but it is useful. Enter a random fight with the weapon you wish to duplicate equipped. When the person who's wearing the weapon's turn comes up, choose item. Scroll down the item menu till you come across an empty space, choose it, and scroll back up, all the way until the characters weapon is showing. Press A on the weapon. You have now unequipped it. Run from the battle, and re-equip the weapon, there should be a 2 beside it. Unequip it again, and re-equip it again. If you did the trick right, there should be one copy of the item in the character's hand, and one in the inventory. But how will you use this power for good? Well, you can use this trick to dupe expensive items and sell them for cash. You can dupe swords and knives for Edge to throw. If you dupe the excalibur sword, and have edge throw that for a hell of a lot of damage. This is a good thing.

Warping
This isn't a trick as much as an anomely. In some areas, if you enter and exit too many doors, you'll find yourself unexpectedly warped to a new location. For example, in the Dwarf castle, if you enter and exit a door 64 times, you'll be warped to Tomra, but without an airship to get back. This happens to many other locations, such as the final level and the tower of bab-il.

Game Genie codes
I hate game genie. But, i did come across two codes which could be useful.

EF30-076E
this code maxes out your exp and gp. Enter a battle with the switch on. When you win, there will be blank boxes where your exp and gp should be. Turn the switch off, then on again. Now the numbers'll get really big.

OOCE-6D69
Here we have a random item generator. Put any item in the first column of your item list. Then heal or cure the middle character of your party. When you get back into the item list, the item you moved will have changed. Keep doing this, and you'll discover all kinds of strange and weird items, some of which MIGHT be useful.
